Here’s part deux of last week’s featured matched maternity photos.
I really love how these two separate sets came together. As I mentioned last week and in previous posts, matching your maternity and newborn photos can make for some beautiful and stunning photosets. Each photo session can stand alone as a captured moment in time, but when you pull out select images to display side by side, the effect can be powerful, highlighting the transition from expectant motherhood to welcoming the life you have created.
Some clients choose to have a couple of images enlarged and recreated as a high-quality print or canvas wrap. These are often displayed on nursery walls or another area of focus in the house. Other clients choose to go the route of a photo book, which can showcase multiple images from each set in a sturdy and stylish album that will last for generations.
For this baby boy and his parents, we created his portraits with the same bright, crisp look that his mother had for many of her photos, which comes through even in the black and white photos. We took several images of him and mom in front of the window, with her in a plain white shirt similar to what she wore in her maternity session. We also recreated the “baby-in-the-belly” shot with her lying on her back and her son on her belly. Side by side, this image and her pregnancy photo of the same pose will be a favorite for sure. Other portraits featuring Mom and Dad utilized the same gray neutral background from her session.
